These are your general guidelines for navigating around the website without getting into trouble.
1:) Spam
No, not the canned version.
Repeatedly posting things many times in a row.
If you're new, check out the Basics section.
If that section doesn't have what you're looking for, ask a staff member.
If THEY don't know, post it up in Suggestions! These things are important if we missed them.
*NOTE*: The same thing goes for the “Suggestions” area. BEFORE you post a topic, be sure you check through the entire “Suggestion” section before posting your own.
--Double Posts--
Please do not double post on the topics. It annoys people, especially if you accidentally put the same thing down twice. BUT if you do, by accident, PM the staff to have it deleted.
YOU CAN DOUBLE POST IF:
If the topic hasn't been touched in two days by staff, give them a bump to remind them you're still here and breathing.
2: Staff Members
You’ll see at the bottom of the index page the list of Administrators, Co Admins, and Moderators. They overlook the site, approve creations, answer your questions, dish out warnings if needed, and help you navigate this website.
----IF in the event a you feel a member of staff is being unreasonable, and you want to complain, please notify either Zitka, or Leo. We don't bite.----
---Zitka Sahd---
Zitka is sweet, caring, and does what she can to make sure everybody's happy here. Anger her at your own risk: she will tell you EXACTLY what she thinks, and she won't sugar coat it either.
---Leo---
This carefree, happy guy is always willing to lend a helping hand to people who ask. He's a fair guy, who has a good heart and isn't too swift to judge people. Break the rules, however, and it's one swing of the banhammer to the head.
3: Posting
There are certain places on this site where posting is limited.
The full list contains:
Region leader's areas-- (There’s one in each region section)
Rules-- (You just read these.)
Magic, weapon, character, summon lists, templates, etc.-- (You simply post your template and post whatever answers a staff member questions about)
Private Topics-- (Self explanatory)
*Don't post in any of these categories, unless you happen to be a part of them. You may post in any section if you are a Moderator. BUT ONLY MODERATORS/ADMINS may post in any topic.*
4: Pictures and Signatures
Nothing Gigantically Huge. People don't want to keep scrolling over nine thousand HUGE pictures of anything. It's annoying and that’s why spoilers were created. Please use them! (Click on the OTHERS box, then SPOILER and put your pic in the gap)
Something around 100x100 to 300x300 should be the limit to how big your picture is. For one-time posts however, you can use a big picture. (EX: Anyone can use a big picture for a character, or a weapon, but ONLY on their template.)
**Signatures**
Now, the signature is something that appears at the bottom of every post you make. Most people put their stats, and other important titles, while others put pictures and icons. It doesn't matter what you put down, as long as it is TRUE.
NO OBSCENE PICTURES:
If ANY of us even have a whiff of dirty pictures, I will ban you.... SERIOUSLY! Like, you can get us shut down and everything. I really, really don't want that.
5: LIFE:
If you have any problems IRL (In Real Life), don't get on here and make a scene and take it out on everybody else. It's fine if you're mad, but don't throw a tantrum here in the middle of the site. There's places to do that, but it's not here. If you want to talk to someone, we're always open for discussion.
6:) Raising Dead/Old Topics
Topics that have been ended, or resolved are called "Dead Topics." Please, don't post in them. If you would like to comment, please start a new topic in the chat room area. Usually topics that have happened a month ago or later are considered dead.
7:) Being a racist jerk
Here in Legends of Avatar, there are a lot of various races and peoples who come here to role play. But we won't tolerate any racial slurs against another member. Even if you think you are joking, its offensive, don’t do it. This also includes any other form of discrimination towards anyone.
Normally, the site itself will replace something unacceptable with "STOP, Banhammer time!", but there's slang terms it may miss. Whatever slips through the site filters will be caught by the staff, and none of it is tolerated here.
8:) Harassing the Staff
If you've posted something, please don't bother, poke, maim, maul, harass, or agitate staff members by demanding that it be approved the minute you see them. We have other things to do, and it takes time. Please be patient.
9:) R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
People who have been here longer? Respect them.
Staff members? Respect them.
Are they not respecting you? Tell Zitka or Leo---it's that simple.
Is someone badmouthing someone? Tell a member of staff.
Give respect, and you shall receive it.
Thanks for your time, and remember to enjoy yourself!
